ignition coil in wet weather
i have a 1985 toyota corolla...
the problem started a while ago in wet weather when the car wouldn't start..and it would stall out too i waited a little while (10-15 min) and the car started. i spoke with a few people and they all said that it was somthing to do with moisture gettting into the ignition coil.... my questions are : 1 is that right that in wet weather it can effect the ignition coil or cause the car not to start. 2 if so..what can i do to solve it (i'm on a bargain) 3 if that's not the issue then what can it be....and how can i solve that issue. thank you |

I have not heard of igntion coil problems in wet weather..
I have seen problems with spark plug wires and distributor caps in moist weather, though. Have you changed these things first (including the wire from the ignition coil to the distributor)? |
