Glass cleaning tips?

I have had my Silverado since March 2005. Since then I have tried to clean the inside of the windshield at least 4 times, with no success. There are mainly a bunch of smudges on it, and i have been using windex and a paper towel. Does anyon have a better method that may clean it better. There is no film-type tint on the windshield

Try windex and a sheet of news paper.

Re: Glass cleaning tips?

You could try just vinegar mixed with water, maybe about a cup of vinegar to a gallon of water, that works fairly well. But the best way i have found to clean windows is to use a Real Leather chamois not an imitation one, and a bucket of hot water. That is it , do not add anything to the water and just rinse the chamois often

Glass cleaner and newspaper does work good. I think I have heard of the coffee filter one before, but never tried it.

Ok I've heard of the newspaper thing on a few different threads on the forum, and I'm not doubting you guys at all, but how does this work? Newspaper is FILTHY!!!! Have you ever looked at your hands and seen what is left behind when you read one? How in the name of Zues' butthole (if I may quote the movie "The Rock") can that possibly clean glass?!?!?!?!

Heh, Zeus's butthole, that's great. The Rock is pretty much my fav movie, which is why I find that humorous.

Let me tell you Rocky, I'm not a hundred percent sure as to how or why, but it has something to do with the newsprint picking everything up (hey look, it was recommended to me by a fish!!!) But seriously, I've been using newsprint to clean glass and mirrors since 1980 and it works great... no smudges... no streaks... just clean glass!!! Oh yeah, black-n-white only... no color!!!

i use the armorall window wipes and to clean and then a microfiber towel to wipe any streaks away and it looks perfect and then i use the towel about once every few weeks to keep any dust dirt fingerprints that get on there off.

It is sold at auto zone it is kinda expensive but works GREAT. it is about $5 a can. last long time tho. dealers use it. And the news papre thing works good with it to.
