4.3L to 2.2L Transmision Compatibility
I have a 95 S-10 2WD 4 Cylinder with a 2.2L engine and a manual transmission. I need a transmission. Can I use a transmission from a 92 or 93 S-10 with a 4.3L engine and just change the bell housing. If not can someone tell which other transmissions may work. Thanks in advance.

A gear on the front shaft is messed up as well as the bearing behind it. I drove it for almost about six months. I didn't have a problem switching gears (It did however catch a little bit going into 4th) but that bearing rattled like hell sometimes when it was in neutral and the clutch wasn't engaged. I was hoping it was the knock out bearing but found this problem when I pulled the tranny out. I really do not want to spend the money to rebuild it if I can get another one in this area for around the same price. A friend of mine had one for the 4.3L, hence the posted question. Thanks again for the advice.
