Interior mod questions

Hey
One interior mod I am looking at doing is swapping out the rear bench seat for a set of bucket seats and placing my a couple subs between them. Now I read the article on doing this on www.clubgp.com but I have a couple questions. In the article he says he used the seats out of a 91 Cutless Supreme, would these be the front bucket seats or was the cutless available with rears? If they are fronts why does he say you need the mounting brakets on the back? Here is the link to the article, http://www.clubgp.com/cgi-asp/mods.asp?modid=39

Secondly, painting of plastic parts. I know some ppl say don't do it it won't last, but I want to. Is there anything specail I should be doing for prep work? I've been building model cars and painting them for a good 6 years so I know the basics, but is there anything in particular? maybe with the textured plastics or whatever. I plan to use Duplicolor Mystify Ice paint on it, 3 step process with the black base, the color, and the clear, I've used it in the past with tremendus results. Along with the 'charcol' interior color it should blend in quite nicely.

Thanx

Jamie

Re: Interior mod questions

make sure you lightly scuff the shine off the plastic to give the paint something to adhere to. As long as it isn't in an area where it will get rubbed (like on the side of the console at seat cushion level) it should last. If it is in that area, after the paint has completely cured, keep it waxed and that will help somewhat.
