Fuel Gage

My fuel gage works fine until it gets down to 1/4 tank. From then it goes up and down for no reason and sometimes says that i have more than a full tank. Is the gage bad or something else? For now I guess I can just put gas in when it gets near a 1/4.

Also depends on if you're on the gas hard or brake fast. Mine will vary 1/8, but not from 1/4 to past full! Sounds like your sensor is malfunctioning. My wife's Daytona just wouldn't start one day and it had over 1/4 tank. Apparently 1/4 is now empty and 1/2 is 1/4, and so on. When I fill up my Cav it shows about half a tank past full!

It will go up at idle in a parking lot even if i have been sitting a minute or so. And it goes up like half tank not just a little. So the sensor must be malfunctioning.
