What the hell is in my vacuum tube!?

So I am installing my MBC and I am using the old tubes to install mine and I take off the one coming from the "Y split" to the compressor part of the turbo. This is the short one about 2 inches. Well I feel it and there is something inside. After pushing it out with a small screwdriver I see it is a small piece of metal like a pipe (about 2-3 mm long. I'm just wondering what it is. Does it slow down the airflow or something? Sorry if this is a stupid question. (Oh yea, and what did you guys without the kits use to plug that port and the two on the BCS?)

For the BCS, nothing. Just leave the wiring harness plugged in or you will get a CEL. I'm not sure I know what other port you are talking about.

The other port that it says to plug is the nipple going to the compressor housing. I guess I'll try to find something at autozone or somewhere. This is the nipple that had the tube with the object in it.

Probably a restrictor, but I've never seen it, or looked for it for that matter. But it has been 5 years since the stock BCS was used on the 2g, so I may have just forgotten. I'm sure it's perfectly normal though. Restrictors are often used in bleed type boost control systems.
