96 Pontiac Grand am ABS light

My car just rolled over 100k, and ive been havin some wierd issues. Ill be driving and everything is normal, then my ABS light will come on. If i keep my foot on the same place on the gas, the rpm goes from about 2 to about 2.75-3. It feels like the amount of gas I give the car doesnt really push the car like it should. If I come to a complete stop and give it a little gas, its really really slow to move, when usually it has a bit of a kick from complete halt. Also when Im highway driving and this happens, when Im in drive and the RPMs are way up, as soon as I let off the gas the RPMs crash to 0.75-1ish. Its really wierd. This has happened as soon as I turn on my car coming out of a parking lot, after ive driven it for half an hour, an hour, after being cold for a couple days, ect. so im pretty sure it has nothing to do with how much I drive and how often, it just seems really random.

To fix this problem, I have to turn off the car and let it sit for a minute, then when I start the car again its back to normal. Any suggestions?

Re: 96 Pontiac Grand am ABS light

Get it scanned for any trans codes and trans solenoid operation, a regular scanner will not do this must have full trans diagnostic capabilities and bi directional. Abs lite sounds like a seperate issue, also can be scanned for memory codes.

the trans problem only happens when the ABS light goes on. They are definately related...

how much do you think itll cost to get looked at?
