STi Version III vs Evolution IV
Which one would win in a 1/4 mile, both stock standard, everything equal (e.g drivers and tyres and etc). No F*cking around, just choose either the EVO IV or the WRX STi?

re
I'm 99% sure that the STI would win hands down.

Wrong
They are very similar but lets talk about the current.
The current Sti (265hp) 14.2 The Evo VI (280hp) 13.4 for real. Sorry but they kick hard :flash:

Re: Wrong
Quote:
current US spec wrx (227 hp) 13.9 STOCK. ask SUPER SPEC V, he did it in his. and hes not the only one. now what makes u think having 40 more hp makes u 3 tenths slower? thats if it actually was 40 hp, but in reality its more, the current sti is rated at 276, same as the current evo. "for real"

I would not think so.
Listen.
In Australia a standard Wrx is 160kw or 218hp on 95ron fuel min and they average anywhere depending on conditions from 14.4 to over 15secs. These cars are tested time and time again by our best touring car drivers in our best mags and a standard Wrx has never broken into the 13s, it just does not happen (for real). They average 14.7secs sorry! To say a STANDARD rex on inferior fuel can do such a thing is plan crap. Also our Sti is not as pept up as its previous bro it only has 195kw (265hp) down from the last 206kw (180hp) model. It also has only ever in atleast ten different tests throughout the year posted a 13.9 once (no wind, it was cold as F*** and perfect humidity). It averages 14.2 for the quarter (for real). We also have a APS version Sti which is 255kw (345hp) this does the quarter in 13.4secs on 98ron fuel. I am quite heavy into the aftermarket seen in Australia, thats where I get my true figures from BUD! All the best :flash:

Listen to Mark he knows what he's talking about.
His numbers are spot on. ldelaysionl yours are delusional In every road test I have read the EVO is the faster car, both in a straight line, and round corners. However the WRX is not that much slower, but much more comfterble, and a lot easier to live with on a day to day basis.

i'm not realllll familiar with a version III,,,, so how bout someone explain what that is...
and an sti is not the same as a wrx. everyone is runnin there quotes off of stock wrx numbers, not sti. also, a lancer has 276, but not here b/c it isn't here yet... we don't know exactly what kinda power the US will see, but it may not be 276. so why not wait till we see what we really get? |
