95 Windstar LX, Shifter PROBLEMS

i have a 95 Ford Windstar LX and just recently, we have been getting shifting problems. it won't get out of Park and when it does it won't go back in hahaha. So we decided to just leave it in N and put the handbrake on. Any suggestions what would be causing this problem??

I would lift the hood and have someone move the shifter. Look for something loose. Look where the cable mounts to the tranny.

How long have you owned this van? Have you had any work done reciently that would caused this?
