cold air intake

I have an Airaid cold air intake and an airaid throttle body spacer on my 97 Tahoe. I keep on getting misfires driving on the interstate. I took it to the dealership and there were no codes in the computer excpept it said the timing was off and the air/fuel ratio was off. They fixed the timing but could not fix the air/fuel ratio because they said they couldn't do it since I had the intake and tbs on. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I could do or what could be my problem? I have replaced all plugs, wires, rotor and dist. cap with ac delco parts and that still hasn't solved the misfire.

First, throw that TBS away. They do practically nothing for our engines.

Second, disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes. Once you reconnect the battery it is supposed to force the PCM to reset. Drive it a couple times. The PCM takes down all the new info and makes adjustments accordingly. You should notice better driving quality within 2-3 trips.

If that doesn't work, let us know and we will go from there.

Re: cold air intake

I just noticed you said 97 Tahoe..... The TBS may not be a POS for your engine....

FYI this is the 99 and up forum...

Re: cold air intake

yeah, from what I understand, the TBS works well for all top induction engines
