all gauges stopped working

I have a 93 jeep wrangler 2.5 that all my guages stopped working even the speedometer. The dash lights work but not the guages. I had ran out of gas after this had happened and eveything came back on for about an hour and then never came back on again. It's getting frustrating not knowing how fast your going or how much fuel I have left.
I've checked all fuses and looked for any loose wires but can't seem to find any. Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you check all connections to the gauges? I know the newer 97-05 have had cronic problems with the gauges failing, but I'm not too sure of the YJ. Do a search of all the posts on this forum and see if anyone else has had this problem.

It happened all at once though, I'll check that anyway just to make sure.
I went through all the previous pages and didn't see my problem.
Thanks for the reply.
