Power Window problem

My passenger side window will not go up on my 98 Firebird. It will go down but not back up at all. When you try to roll it up it shakes and makes a clicking noise, it slowed down noticably in the days prior to failing. I want to fix it myself any links to instructions on how to replace the motor or switch?

Thx

Re: Power Window problem

Odds are it's your window motor going bad. Happened to me on my driver side. Does it go up at all? Mine went up, then would stop, so I had to let it rest for a minute then try it again. If that's the case, then I can definately guarantee you that it's your motor.

Re: Power Window problem

my window motor just died..bought a new one put it in and went up and down then a day later it's making this click noise going up then got stuck..so today i took it apart to look at it the motor, its alright(hopefully) but the gear, one of the teeth i think is chiped or something so i'm going to be getting a new gear..grr too much pain..so maybe it could be the gear..usually when the motor fails it will slowly go up then stop..wait a while, then try and roll it up again and should do the same thing....or it will just stop working completly which mine did...
