v-6 swap to LT1

I currently have a 3.4 L in my 95 camaro and I wanted to put a LT1 in it. The LT1 is currently in a truck. My question is will it work and what is required to do this?

Re: v-6 swap to LT1

it will work

www.tacreationsusa.com I hear has lists of what you need but basically..

the entire k-member, the PCM, ALL acessories, the readiator I think is bigger, new guages, upgraded suspension, and lt1 tranny

honestly for what it costs to do the swap most people swap an LS1 in instead

Re: v-6 swap to LT1

I never understood the reasoning behind the V-6 to V-8 swap on any car as plentiful as a late model Camaro. Most of these swaps end up half baked because it's just too much money and work to change everything necessary to make it as good as the factory did. Sorry to be so negative but that's just the way I see it.

A better plan in my opinion would be clean up the V-6 Camaro as much as possible and sell it. Then use the money along with all the other money you would have pumped into the swap to buy the best V-8 Camaro you can find.

Re: v-6 swap to LT1

Yeah swaps cost +10k easily. And if you were going to do a worthwhile swap doing a LS1 (98-02 z28 engine) in the 95 camaro would be better. Save up your money, sell the V6 and buy a V8 stock. It will save you tons of money, which you could put into performance

Re: v-6 swap to LT1

yea if you put all that money into the v8 swap, hope you don't run into my friend Craig's 13.5 daily driver 3.8... or any of the numerous 3.8s in texas, virginia, and other places running turbos and superchargers and 13s and 12s... or my friend James' 3.8 (last season best 12.1, tht was on 3.23 gears and a 3k or 3500 stall verter... now he has 4.10s and a 4200 stall verter, once he hits the track and hits hit 100 shot the current v6 f-body record of 11.8 will be a thing of the past, but still a far cry from the 3.8 record which right now is the high 9's).

all the v8 owners who overlook v6's are gonna be suprised by a buncha 3.8s soon and I'm gonna love every minute of it

Re: v-6 swap to LT1

Thanks for the info guys. Maybe my boyfriend will listen to me now. He thinks he's Tim Taylor. I wanted to just rebuild this one and put performance parts in it. Less headache.
