Re: E.a.c.v

EACV is what people call IACV.
EACV = Electronic Air Control Valve
IACV = Intake Air Control Valve

I think manual uses EACV... same thing.

Yes, but try to not get the cleaner into the motor part of the IACV you might ruin it. just hold the IACV motor up when cleaning it out.

sounds easy enough. i need to try this, but my book doesn't clearly show me where it is or how to get to it. i assume i have to pull down the whole motor, yes?

pull the motor done? no no the eacv is a little device only 6 inches by 2 inches and it sits on the intake manifold i think there is one or two bolts that holds it on. take it off and clean it. it is only about a 1 minute job.

I bought a couple from a junkyard, soaked them overnight in carb cleaner & they never, ever worked again - listen to the man, he knows what he's talking about.

I know this might sound kind of stupid, but how do you take the coolant tubes off without spilling any coolant? or can you just spray it down with the lines attatched?

I tried taking off the coolant lines...they're a pain to remove. Any easy way to do it?

Re: E.a.c.v

coolant lines will leak when pulled out. just live with it. to take it out the lines, it will just take some effort. just brush out the screen. no need for spraying anything.

Re: Re: E.a.c.v

You don't have to even disconnect the coolant tubes. You don't even move it that much. Just unbolt the 2 12mm bolts from the back and unplug the electrical plug. Then take a wire brush, toothbrush or even some Q-tips and wipe the crap out of the screen and clean out the small hole where it connects to the intake manifold. Then bolt it back up and plug in the plug. It's not that difficult...
