Smokes when cold, seems to warm out of it.

I'm looking into an engine (13B non-turbo) with 160K on it. My block seems to be bad and I am looking for this as a "drop in" replacement.

The guy who has the motor says it smokes when just started and then warms out of it (he didn't say white smoke or black smoke - still trying to find this out). I know Rx7's do burn some oil -- I assume once they warm up and the metal expands, the smoke can go away?

Is the smoking in the morning a "warning sign" or a bad motor or can a rotary motor last a while longer with this. I know I would never buy a piston motor that smoked, but perhaps this is different for a rotary?

Thanks.

160k on it... I would personally stay clear of it. As rotory's are only supposed to last up to 170k roughly... It's just the way they are. Rebuilt is better, and much more reliable.
