I just changed my plugs and wires. It started fine drove it for awhile then got on to the highway, I saw the check engine light flash about 4-5 times then went away. I got off the high and still ran fine. Its when I guess I hit a hit speed or step on the gas it pops up. I was going to go to autozone and get the code pulled, but can it be pulled if the light is not on? Reply with any information.

If your vehicle is OBDII (96 or newer) then the PCM saves a code even if the check engine light is now off. If the check engine light flashes as you describe, it indicates a miss, and should store a cylinder code. I would check to make sure all the wires are securely in place on the plugs and the coil. Good luck with it!

Re: Check engine light after plug and wire change
try disconecting your battery for 10 minutes to reset the computer. you might want to try changing the oxyegen sensor also. anytime you change spark or fuel parameters the computer has to readjust and you could be starving or flodding the engine when you mash on the gas with the hotter spark from new plugs.
