Replacing automatic seat belts

I have a 1992 T-Bird my drivers side retractable seat belt is stuck in the forward position. Which means I can't go anywhere till it is fixed. Does anyone know how to fix this??? I was told to check the fuses or mount after market replacements.....

The track might be stripped, so you might have to run to the junk yard and pick up replacements. To remove the track or the the motor you need to remove the rear seat, the rear seat side paneling, and the trim along the belt track. Its not a difficult job I have a similar problem except mines were stuck in the backards position. It took me about and 2hrs to do.

Re: Replacing automatic seat belts

Before you go pulling everything out including the kitchen sink, there is a little access panel just below the armrest and near the leading edge of the panel. Pop that little panel off and you should see a knob on a motor. Turn the knob and if your seatbelt moves keep turning it so the latch is in the rear most position. Open and close the door a few times and see if the track moves as it should, make sure your ignition switch is on. You may have a bad sensor, motor, track, etc. and this should help you narrow down what's wrong. If nothing else, just make sure the track is all the way back, unplug the 2 wire connector to the motor, and use the seatbelt manually.
