Higher or Lower?

Everyone gets a piece, helping me decide whether I should raise or lower my car. I just replaced my struts and the stance is the SAME. This is strange because I think the rear suspension has eibach springs as well. Anyway, the solution i'm looking for isn't to fix the stance but what I should do. My Iroc-Z looks like a funny car right now, which isn't a bad thing, but I'd rather raise it to stock height or drop it 1"++ all round.

What do you think I should do? Lower it or Raise it? Are there advantages to keeping it stock over lowering it? I know dropping it gets you better handling...It's in your hands, what say you, car gods?

Re: Higher or Lower?

Lower is better, an inch would be good that way the wheels are completely tucked under the car. Put some nice 275's or wider out back and that will make it look just fine

Yeah lower the front and wider tires in the back.. pure mean look, something that the 3rd gen's front nose IMO really helps out in.

Re: Higher or Lower?

im no fan of the redneck rake (front low ass high... well I like that on girls but not cars). what are the car's main uses? DD? handling? drag? it matters

Re: Higher or Lower?

Daily Driver, as for how I want it to look, road racing.
Almost everyone has said wider tires in the back but I like it if the car looks equal, front and back. I tried to take a picture tonight but my camera phone sucks and it doesn't really work at night...not even indoors...

There's your redneck rake 97RS

Some dissatisfaction comes from when you spend weeks on a project and when you finish there's no difference. This is the case.

Re: Higher or Lower?

well since you want it for handling, you wanna get some heavy duty shocks if not adjustable shocks, and also lower it a little. Eibach and Hotchkis are two good names to check out for springs, I hear that Eibachs tend to sag in the rear tho and that Hotchkis rides better (dont know how true either or those are but that's the word). QA1 and Bilstein are some good names for shocks.

Re: Higher or Lower?

I just about to ask you about what shocks and springs you got Dave. Are the KYB AGX ajustables shocks good. What drop did you get with the eibachs? I've seen some listed as 1" drop all around or something like 1.6" front and 1.3" back (not too sure on the exact numbers, but around those). I went over a dip in the ground (at the time i didn't know that all shocks were out) and my car hit the ground real hard. Sucks.

Re: Higher or Lower?

1" drop = pro-kit, 1.6/1.3" drop = sportline
