Car wont start...

Yesterday i bought an 87 crx si motor from the junkyard, and put it in last night. Got everything plugged in and wired up, but it wont start up. It turns over but wont fire. It has gas (pressure and tank wise) I checked the dipstick ( after i changed and put new oil in) and there was no oil on it, so i tried a couple more times, nothing...oil gets to the cam and everything but the dipstick wont pick up any oil. I made sure there was oil in the oil pan, and it was full, but no oil on the dipstick. Ive never heard of this problem, maybe one of you have. Thats problem number one.

Problem number two is that the ecu throws the code saying that there is a problem with the coolant system but all the line are hooked up???

And number three is the spark plugs, what is the order that they are supposed to be in on the distributor? Would this cause it not to fire. I also installed new plugs, sparks, and distributor.

this is relly stumping me, any ideas on how to fix the problems.

Re: Car wont start, no oil...

The firing order is 1-3-4-2. You may need to move all the plug wires over 1 terminal.

Which ECU code?

Which dipstick are you using? How much oil did you put in?

Got it fired up today, found out that my jackass friend didnt put the rotor back into the distributor. But now that i got it started, i think the timing is off.
As far as the ecu code goes 0xx0<<<(LEDs lit up). I used the original dipstick that came with the engine, nuthin, then i tried my old dipstick (i know it worked with the other motor) and still no oil. When i did finally get the motor running, i got some oil on the dipstick, then i cleaned it and stuck it back in to check it again and got nuthin. Still stumped on that question but anyways, thanks for the quick reply.

I'd use the dipstick that came with the motor (assuming it's the correct one) and put more oil in it. Did you take the volume of the new oil filter into account?

I bumped the ECU code thread so you can use it as a reference.

The timing wasnt off, i just had the firing order wrong, go figure. As far as the dipstick problem goes, still not gettin nuthin. i put a good gallon in there and still not gettin nuthin. ill prolly have to drain some of the oil because i think thats way too much. The sensor that it the ecu says has an error is the radiator sensor, i need a new one, the one i had got dmaged (dont know how but it kinda got smashed at the end plus the wires are broke.
