rear view mirror

my 98 GP has that auto rear view mirror, but i noticed it doesnt "automaticly" adjust anymore when theres light hitting it at night, so i end up getting blinded by the car behind me, so now i just want to do away with it and just put a normal mirror on there, but how would i disconnect the mirror wire, i dont really want to just cut it, i checked the wiring under the overhead storage, is the wiring is spliced together? or is there a connecter somewhere? there was electrical tape wrapped around all the wiring so i diddnt really feel like unwrapping it unless i know theres a connector under it. also will a regular mirror fit onto the bracket already glued to the glass? i know those are ussualy just one size.

Re: rear view mirror

also how would i remove the mirror from the bracket, theres no screw or anything, it looks like theres a metal clip holding it on instead or something, i dont want to damage the glass or anything else of course.

Re: rear view mirror

i tried pulling it off the bracket and still wouldnt budge, does it lock in place once its on the metal bracket and the only way to get it off again is when the bracket is off the glass?

Re: rear view mirror

its a wedge fit give it some love taps towards the top on the windshield. Mine still dims but the little green light does not hardly ever work.
