My '96 F150 straight 6 water temperature indicates, but only about 10% of its normal range. No computer faults. The true water temperature is normal. I am wondering if this indication problem is also sending the wrong info to the computer. Thanks.

Re: Temperature indication low
I am not 100% sure, but I think you have a separate sending unit for the gauge. If you do, there is a different sensor for the PCM that tells what the engine temp is. Look close to the thermostat area and see if there is a 2 wire sensor and a 1 wire sensor.
