Hi, just bought a 1995 SL2 with 96,000 mi. from the original owner who maintained it according to the owners manual. He changed the oil regularly. The car is in very good cond. all the fluids seem clean without any burnt residue or smell. I do see some oxidation on some of the aluminum parts and the exhaust has rust( no holes).
What should I do to keep this car healthy , what are your feelings on synthetic oil, grade of gas, change tranny fluid.(I don't know if it was ever changed before) etc.? |

Saturns are oil burners, so why use expensive synthetics, just change it every 3k miles and check your level often. Reg. gas works for me. I just changed the transmission fluid a couple of months ago, no problems. My 95 has 211k on it and runs sweet, otherwise if aten't broke don't "f" with it.
It's just probably just a coincidence, but when I first got mine I started messing with it and things started braking. |
