B16 problems

I just finished putting a b16A 5 million series in my 1990 Si hatch. It has a couple problems though. It idles kinda funny, really really small surges, about the same kind you get when your alternator kicks in an out, but its really frequent like if you were to count "1 2 1 2"...it also hesitates above 4000rpm, even when cruising on the hwy, it also seems to be starving itself at idle...the tach goes all fluttery above 4000rpm, the motor doesnt get all jumpy with it...i cannot figure out whats going on...i took apart the dizzy thinking it was that (cause of the tach), but the tach looks like its brand new inside, all the wires and other stuff checks out ok (with ohmeter)...its got new pugs, wires, dizzy cap n rotor...so i dont think its that...one thing im guessin is it might be my fuel line, i used the stock d series one, should i be using one from a teg?? i really need help here, i dont want it to die one day million miles from nowhere, you ever seen what having a lowered car towed can do...scrape gouge scrape....

Sounds like a vacume leak is causeing the bad idle.
You will just have to check everywhere to find it.

and have you checked the ECU for codes? that should tell you whats causing the problems above 4,000rpm. But it sounds like its starving for fuel.
This could be related to your vacume leak, of course.

Ummm... have you checked to see if your fuel pump is powerful enough to deliver the correct PSI under load?

Other than that, check for leaks around the injectors by spraying WD40 around them - if the engine picks up, the seals may be stuffed.

It could also be the injectors themselves that are clogged/rooted, but that's a very long shot.
