Thumbs down 1992 Left Turn Signal Dead - Cannot locate in Column!

My 92 GT's left turn signal died and the bulb in the front went too. I replaced the bulb and it went again. Odd. I KNOW the turn signal has an issue because I heard a little tick while driving one day and there was a little smoke trail coming from the 4-way switch on the top of the column. Ever since then I have had to push the left turn repeatedly to get that side of the car to blink.

So today I removed the steering wheel and had to stop at the metal plate that the steering pin locks into when you shut off the car. I cannot see how to remove that. If I turn it the wheels turn too.

I used the Haynes manual to get to that point but its a complete loss because they do not show my model. Theirs is square in the column and mine is round. Nothing is similar.

I do not think its a fuse, but the repeated burn out could mean that or a wire... But still stuck at the column. Where do I go from here? I have to put it all back together to get to work tomorrow..

Please Help

Go to Beretta.net or Berettastuff.com I've been on both sites and they are usually great help. We never pulled our 91' off because of the air bag.

Re: 1992 Left Turn Signal Dead - Cannot locate in Column!

Beretta.net had nothing and their search feature turned no results. I got frustrated and left. Have not been to any other beretta boards but I guess i should. Thanks for the reminder.
