Autozone doesn't scan for codes in California
anyone know where else I could take it in California to get the car scanned because my service engine light and service vehicle soon light are coming on. 2001 GA 4 cylinder

Yeh - it's pretty stupid they stopped doing that. (Liability). Some Autozones here in Michigan will still do it, if you're the one that pushes the clear button. I would try taking it to Advance Auto, CarQuest, or even Pep Boys. As far as I know, none of those places do that.
