How do u burn mp3 cds (and what programs do you use)

ok well ya i burned about 4 cds so far and only one has worked decently

i burned it the way i normally burn data cds, i burned at 8x, but it skips like crazy

so i tried again at 4x, didnt even play (then again i had an m3u file so im guessing that screwed it up)

and so i burned it again at disc at once this time, and no multisession and i burned at 4 x and it doesnt play at all either

WTF im using nero, what program and what settings do you use to burn your mp3 cds?

wow ok first of all why are u burning cds at 4x and 8x? would it be because u have a slow speed burner? if not bump it up to around 40x+. I use real player it has a free burner in it its really fast and the cds come out in great quality. if you dont have it go to real.com and download the free player it works wonders so there ya go

i burn at slow speeds because the faster u burn the greater there is a risk of getting errors

slower means better quality, atleast thats how its been for me

i have a 52x burner, i hate real player

use nero, but dont burn a data disk, burn an MP3 disk. If you are using nero 6, open up nero express and chose mp3 cd from there. I havn't been able to find it from the main menu.

Re: How do u burn mp3 cds (and what programs do you use)

eh.. finalize the cd, and try not to put all this crap you don't need in there. If you care about quality so much (since you're burning them at snail like speeds) why not just buy cds? mp3s themselves are lossy audio and can never acheive the same quality as cds.

because mp3s would be more conveniant, id rarely have to switch cds, because they can hold around 10 cds worth of music

Re: How do u burn mp3 cds (and what programs do you use)

Well I use Sonic "record now" it was free with my burner. And all you do is select MP3 CD and close out the disk. I burn at 40X with no problems whatsoever. If you're doing 4x-8x it must take forever to burn(like hours). Dunno what your problems with the skips are about. Peace-

I use Nero, choose data cd, and I only select the mp3 files from the folder (leave out the m3u and album cover pictures, etc. I usually burn 1x, sometimes 4x... the fastest for my burner is 8x but I've had it mess up before, so I stay away from that

Also I usually test and burn instead of just burning, because I've had it fail before when I didn't... this all takes a long time though but it seems to work for me.

Re: How do u burn mp3 cds (and what programs do you use)

ya for some reason data usually works, im just hoping that going down to 4x would stop the skips

i seriously dont see the prob of burning at slow speeds (4x, 8x and all that) it seriously only takes about 20> min at 4x

Re: How do u burn mp3 cds (and what programs do you use)

No problem... we just don't know any better. I still think it'd be pretty cool to be able to go on your computer, and burn 3 - 4 CD's in 15 min or however long it takes.

Re: How do u burn mp3 cds (and what programs do you use)

Honestly you're losing so much detail just by going to mp3 in the first place that there's no point in limiting yourself to a slow burn to "save quality". The speed that you burn it should have nothing at all to do with skipping, only missed bits and lost detail. If your cds are skipping there's another problem.

Re: How do u burn mp3 cds (and what programs do you use)

SR20, high bit rate mp3's SQ difference is entirely undetectable to the human ear. really using any more than 256 is a waste of space and for mp3 players like the ipod when only listening on cheap little ear buds 128 sounds just as good as 256.
as far as your problem, sounds like a CD player problem. i have an mp3 portable CD player (ie walkman) and i can put anything from a WMA to a jpeg to MPEG on there and it just skips what it doesnt recognise...
an mp3 CD on Nero 6 is jsut a Data format CD but the file selections only allow you to choose mp3's and otehr recognised compressed music.
also, if you get your music from iTunes it may be the iGay mp3 encoding format...
