Flooding?
My wife's 99 malibu has cranked and ran flawlessly for six years. I went to the store in it tonight and all was well. When I tried to restart it, it acted just as though it was flooded (no I never put my foot on the accelerator for injected engines.) After sitting a few minutes it almost started then acted the same way. I walked home (about 1.5 miles) and came back after it an hour later. It cranked normally and did so again later. I'm going to crawl around in the engine bay tomorrow but was wondering if anybody has had an episode of a small injected engine flooding out.

Re: Flooding?
Pull the vacuum hose of the fuel press. regulator see if you see or smell gas in the hose.

Re: Re: Flooding?
For now, it is starting and running perfectly fine again. It'll probably wait until the wife and kids are gone shopping before it happens again. Until then, everything appears normal (fuel pump is pumping gas just fine.)
