Re: reverse gear blues

I would have someone look at it before it gets worse, who knows your tranny might be in jeopardy.

if its a 93-99 than you need a new trans, its a common failure of the reverse gear or differential gear teeth break off.

Re: reverse gear blues

Eventually it will lose reverse totally. If you plan on having it rebuilt then fix it soon. If you plan on exchanging it for a remanufactured unit then it won't make too much difference.

when i bought the car about a month ago, the guy told me his mechanic said he just chipped a tooth, and that he shouldnt get it replaced because it would just be a waste of money, but i think your word means more. how long owuld it take until it completely gave out? and would it be the other gears also that will get affected or will the problem only be contained to he reverse gear? will using reverse gear less help? how much would it cost to rebuild reverse gear? i know im over whelming you with questions lol, plz help a broke 16 y.o
