Can anyone tell me what is up with alternators having: Square Terninals & Round Terminals. My 88 GP has the Square, can anyone tell me if I can use the Round if I change the lead wire connector???

Re: 1988 Grand Prix Alternator
the square terminal has a threaded hole, and a bolt that holds the alternator wire on. The round terminal has a stud with a nut that holds the alt wire on. There may be other differences, and the stud is the easiest way to tell them apart. Have the parts store pull both out. If they are the same dimension, the plugs are in the same clock position, and the same amperage, then you should be able to interchange them.
