Need help with this 5.0

When i was driving and stoped at a red light in my 5.0, my car began to putter when i gave it gas and didnt get very far when i stalled out. Someone told me it was my air filter system, i think it might be the fuel pump going bad because after a while of driving, the engine dosnt do anything when i give it gas, then stalls out, and when im trying to give it gas after i start it it makes a low bang noise or something. Does anyone know what the hell is wrong with it? please reply.

what year is your stang? sounds like a possible pump but you should really try and monitor fuel pressure in your drive way or garage.if your pressure drops and the engine stalls soon after, a bad pump now looks more reasonable
