Question Transmission will not engage

I have a 97 caravan 3.0 with a 3 speed auto. It just quit pulling while my wife was driving it. Now it will try to go in gear and when it does it hits like it should. Then it will just quit pulling again. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Transmission will not engage

Check to make sure it is not low on fluid, and if it is use only the correct type!

Also check neutral safety switch and PRNDL switch. Could be something worse, but any of these ~may~ cause your problem.

How many miles on it ???? Doesn't sound good , but it could just be a cable adjustment if the fluid is up to par on it and at a good level.

The fluid is full and looks good I have not had a chance to check any of the other things but I hope to this week.

Just curious, what exact cable is it that might need to be adjusted? I thought the only cables on that car were for the hood release and accelerator....
