engine noise

1995 350 how can itell if a bearing is gone... any tests i can perform to see if a bearing is gone or lifter is gone...sound seems to be coming from bottom of motor. thanks

tic-tic-tic-tic is the lifter

clok-clok-clok-clok is the crankshaft.


Kinda hokey I know, but make the sounds for yourself and hopefully you'll find that helpful.

Oh yeah, also with a main bearing going/gone, you'll get a lot of heat being generated.
