crx brakes

i was wonder is it worth the time/money to do a big brake upgrade for the 1st gen crx. i was reading on rpr that any 88-91 crx front brakes will bolt right into our 1st gen crx. so i was wondering if the 11 inch rotor brake kit is worth the 500.00. also im also goin for the safety issue do to a reccent accident that left me pretty messed up (2 fractures of the pelvis and 4 lower vertbrae fractures) but i am making a fully recov. but im also gonna be turboing my d16a1 brown top and trying to hit 300 to 400 whp. so i was concerned about stoppin. also is it worth the time to put in a 6 point roll cage into my crx? any help will be very greatly appreicated. Jr

Re: crx brakes

I've seen the generic 11" and Wilwood 12" kits too but have never tried them. The 2G CRX calipers and rotors are direct bolt-ons to the 1G so I don't see any fitment issues other than possible interference with smaller sized wheels.

Have you looked into doing a 1G Integra brake swap? You'll get larger rotors up front and discs in the rear, and the difference in stopping power over the stock 1G brakes is significant. Plus, they'll barely fit under 13" wheels.

yeah i did do the integra swap for the front when i did the motor swap i alo need to do the rear disc swap. but when i had my other motor that was bored over .30 the brakes kinda seemed week even tho i had the integra drilled rotors, and ceremic pads. plus with the upgrade im not really concerned with the wheels because i will be running a set of 16 with a nice tire. so clearance issue aren't a prob. also is there any other big brake kit that came stock on honda kinda like how the integra is to our crx?
