Question about RSM intake kit

I just have a quik question about the RSMracing intake kit. In the pic on RSM and pfyc it shows two intake pies with different color connectors. Is this kit a CAI or a WAI(does it have two pipes that go down into the fenderwell,or just one with the filter in the engine bay? Also, how come nobody has this kit? If it is a CAI then how come people buy the doctorspeed over it if the RSM is cheaper?

Re: Question about RSM intake kit

Couldnt tell you why, maybe its just the looks that drives people away.
I would think this would of been priced lower than what PFYC price it at for $180 for the 3.4L...

I want to think of this product as maybe the poor man's choice. *shrug*

Re: Question about RSM intake kit

i bought the intake on my GA over 3yrs ago and at the time I had seen no others anywhere. I just recently seen that there are many types and prices.

I paid over $300 for the yellow one I hav, it has three parts all the same diameter. So I had to cut the fender to acomidate the large piping. I really am pleased with it. I moved my air temp sensor in the fender also. The only drag is to clean the filter I hav to remove the plastic in the fender well and remember not to drive through any water above my bumper. They do make three peice and two peice that will fit in the fender without cutting anything. Most pics of CAIs on the net dont nessecerily match what you are acually buying, you should keep that in mind, and ask if thats what they look like when purchasing.

So your kit is from RSM? And it was over $300!!! What about the kit on their site and on pfyc,is that a CAI or WAI?

NO, my CAI came from PEP Boys in Louiville Ky. At the time I did not know of Rsm or Pfyc. But if I'm right they both hav a Cai and the Wai. Most two and three peice units go inside the fender, just read the details on the one you like and/or email them and ask which it is, a CAI or a WAI. Hell if you just want a WAI and are on a tight budget, buy a three inch cone filter and stuff it on the MAF, its a good place to start if ur short on cash.
