99 Venture Trany Long Shift Change Code P1811

To anyone that can help us:

We have this long shifting problem on my 99 Venture 3.4L Engine.

We hook the computer to it and gave us the P1811 code.

Does any one knows how to correct the problem?

Thanks for your help.

Pressure control solenoid problems. Unfortunately it's a problem in some vehicles. A transmission shop should be able to tell you for sure if that is the culpret. You may also look up GM's tech bulletin #0O-07-30-002B which covers the problem.

Re: 99 Venture Trany Long Shift Change Code P1811

Just wanted to second the opinion that it's probably your pressure control solenoid (PCS). These are available through GMPartsDirect.com for about $29.00... beats the dealer part price of $59.00. Lots of labor to get it swapped, but definitely worth doing it yourself to save the $500 or so it would cost at a dealer.

Thanks for the hint.

We check pricing with the local dealer, The selenios is $51.00 Dlls.

We'll take a look at this web site.

Re: 99 Venture Trany Long Shift Change Code P1811

I had a 2000 Venture with the P1811. It had harsh shifts after it warmed up. I was going to replace the pressure control solenoid, but decided to try solution-in-a-bottle first. I used Seafoam TransTune and IT WORKED! Ten miles after pouring in the Seafoam I changed the fluid and the problem went away. Woo hoo!!
