2000 Ram backup lights

My backup light do not work with the transmission in reverse. They come on when the transmission is between park and reverse. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Re: 2000 Ram backup lights

Sounds like it's either the switch position or the linkage, since it is engaging the backup lights prior to actually being in reverse.

I'd start by checking the linkage to the switch, and making sure the alignment is correct.
