How to change fuel pump.

Hello,
My friend has a 93 Mercury Villager. He was driving and all of a sudden the van just stop/died on him. We try to start it, but it cranks and does not fire up. We think its the fuel pump as we don't hear it when turning the ignition to on. Can somebody pls. send me a link or tell me how to change the fuel pump.

Thanks in advance.

It is not difficult.
You need to raise the van from the rear wheels and support safely. There are straps that hold the tank up and the hose connection that need to be removed. Once the tank is down and I hope its neat empty if not do so first. The fuel pump has two plugs If I remember and about 6 screws holding it. Use a good screwdriver to avoid stripping or damage. Also keep all sparks and bulb type lights away.

Re: How to change fuel pump.

Try ebay or on the forum for members who are partinh out there's. I bought on for $50 along with some misc trim pieces including shipping on ebay. The pump is about $150 at dealers and autoparts stores
