Calling all those wonderful honda techs out there... Misfiring problem
Well, I'm sure most of you know about the accident I had in my car... And unfortunately, the damage still is not fixed yet.. (Damn those evil insurance companies)
Anyway, last night, I hit a bump pretty hard and then got these purty new ecu codes... P0301 P0302 P0304 P1399 and P0300 Now, I know what all of those mean, except the P1399... Now, here's my question... Why would all of a sudden I'd be having misfires in all but #3 cylinder, as well as a random misfire code. Secondly, what could have caused this... I know I'm getting spark to the cylinders. I did the wire pull out testing to figure out if it was the spark plug wires, which it wasn't... Now, the car has about 106k miles on it, with the original timing belt still on her. Could that bump have possibly made the timing belt slip(Remember she's still damaged), and made the tdc of each cylinder be off, and therefore causing the random misfire? But if that was the case, wouldn't ALL of the cylinders be misfiring? Anyway, I really don't know how to diagnose this... We've been getting a LOT of rain here in South joisey lately, and I am no longer able to have the resonator attached to the air intake. I pulled off the air filter cover and the filter was very very wet. Could the excess water thats been getting into the engine perhaps caused the plugs to stop firing, or stop firing correctly? Would it help if I pulled them out and let them dry out do you think? Anyway, this is the first time a check engine light has come on since the accident, and it just seems very very weird that the misfire codes would just come out of nowhere like this... Thanks in advance. |

Re: Calling all those wonderful honda techs out there... Misfiring problem
Also, one more thing I have noticed.
I have noticed a loud clicking noise towards the rear of the engine around the intake manifold and the fuel injectors. Now, the only reason I mention this is because I've never heard the injectors clicking this loud before. |
