Angry clutch rebuild

im pretty sure i need a new throwout bearing and i want to get it fixed before it wrecks my clutch and tranny, i was going to go and get it fixed either at the dealer or a transmission place, anyone know how much this would cost approx? and if its better to go to the dealer or to a dedicated trasmission shop?

umm, im basically asking if anyone has had their clutch w/ throwout bearing replaced and how much i should expect to pay for this...

ps i hate my saturn dealer, they are the ones who told me the ticking is ok when it was faint and would never get worse, and now that my cars out of warranty its getting louder and worse sounding so im going to go to Mister Transmission, anyone have bad expeiences with them?? let me know before i go! - thanks

Re: clutch rebuild

mine was about 1000-1200 us$ at the dealership. a good amount of that is labor(its a mircale they don't need to pull the engine and transmission together to do it, its a tight fit). the dealership also includes replacing the hydraulic release system. i have never heard anything good about independant trans shop(but that mostly deals with automaics)
