supermodifieds/radical ofet midget
Hi, I'm looking for information on small2<3 liter super modified type cars.
have seen some pictures of them, but cannot find on the web. Want to start a series for seald std duratech 3ltr V6 powered cars for 1/4 mile tracks in uk. 250BHP on std engine and inlet just change managment and exhaust. Any buildrs over there got anything to say on live axle versus independant rear?? cost/performance?? will design series to disallow ind rear if no significant gain, or substantially dearer. I can see build dearer, but it should reduce accident damage costs - diff and dampers can be well protected. rules pictures or info please |

All right, first off you're speaking of supermodifieds like those I've posted on, correct?
If so, keep in mind that almost none of these cars use an independent rear suspension as such setups are prone to breakage due to the extreme stresses involved and the high costs. Here in the states, the closest thing we have to a small displacement supermodified is what's called a TQ Midget. Here's the basic rundown on TQ Midgets from the Can-Am Midget Racing Club. The majority of these guys actually are from Canada. Quote:
The neatest thing about TQ's is that not only do they run great on 1/4 to 1/2mile tracks, they also put on great shows running indoors in stadiums and arenas.
