howzit i was wondering what the main diffrece is between a legnum GDI
and a legnum str is ? i hear the gdi motors at bout 150000 tend to blow up... then i heard the str motor is like a "VR4 with turbos""... so i was hoping the str motors are tougher than the gdi... i know this motor runs gassoline direct injection which makes this car fuel efficent but the str is more powerfull by 10 od kilowatt... Can someone please explain the main motor diffrences and do these Str legnums tend to live long???

The STR refers to the trim level as well as the mechanics, I think. I am not certain, but I believe that the STR is a 2.5l V6 with 4WD. The GDI could be 4WD or FWD. The GDI needs high octane fuel to perform correctly - bear this in mind as if you use low octane fuel your economy will plummet - you'll get better from the 2.5l V6.
At the end of the day, Mitsubishi cars tend to be reliable. Buy one that has been looked after and look after it yourself and it should last a long time.
