CW question

Okay...before I get all paranoid I just want to ask for some info. Ok first off, I've read through the previous cw posts and read about the ticking noise as the crankshaft grinds down your sensor. Would it only make this noise when the clutch is engaged or would this be a constant sound? The reason I ask this is because my car recently started making a loud noise when the clutch is engaged. My mechanic says it is the throw-out bearing but he is not sure. Also I have read that when you get cw it may be difficult to put it into gears sometimes. My car has issues sometimes going into 1st gear every once in awhile and sometimes it has trouble going into other gears at higher rpms. My clutch also seems to randomly get easier to push in every once in awhile. Also, someone mentioned something about starters and cw...I read and read for an hour or so and never found anything connecting cw and a starter . But when I want to start my car I have to try for a few seconds or so and just keep turning the key. Everyonce in awhile it magically starts on the first try. But when it doesn't the starter just clicks. I figure this is a result of a starter taking a shit but I figured I would throw it in here too. Thank you for any help you can give me.

I can't imagine you having CW on a vehicle that only has 37k on the motor. I have 94K on my motor and no problems at all.

Even still I haven't heard of a motor that young having cw.

Re: CW question

CHECK THE CRANK ENDPLAY!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for yelling, but everyone thinks they have crankwalk, so they come in hear all paranoid. Then they spend 15 minutes starting a new thread when they could be laying on the garage floor checking the endplay on the crank.

(Rant mode off)

Re: CW question

I would but even after reading I'm still not exactly sure I have the tools to do it or even know how to do it... Plus I wrote this thread last night at about 11:30pm and I wasn't about to go out in the garage and check the endplay. BTW the engine was actually rebuilt so its not actually a full new engine. I'll probably end up measuring the endplay anyway since it is really the only real way to put your mind at ease...or put you in a really pissy mood. Thanks everyone.
