What would you do?
There's a good chance that I've got a job at a Fly in only fishing lodge, with what appeares to be a very good company.
They want me as a permant employee. It's looking like it's an all year long position and I'll only be off the Island a few weeks a year. As a result I'll only really require 1 vehicle, and I can probably even borrow that. If you got a job like this would you sell most of your cars, and only keep the basics? (My car is my Daily driver, so it's what I'd keep) Or would you store all the cars knowing that all the rubber seals, and tires will probably need replacing when you return? They would require a lot of work at that time. Money is no object here since I've got a fair amount of money owing to me at this time (coming in monthly) and the job will pay pretty good too. Thanks for any input. |

Re: What would you do?
Well your right. It's hard on a vechicle if it just sets around in the elements.Which in the long run means you would have to work on them as a result of setting. Now if you could fire them up and move them around a bit that wouldn't be so bad.Heres the thing,if they look and run good, sell while you can still get something out of them.Somebody isn't going to buy a car that has a rotted out brake lines, gas tank, doors, fenders, etc.Good luck at the new job.

Re: What would you do?
working at a fishing lodge, that sounds wonderful. getting paid to do something so fun and relaxing. yeah, i'd sell the other vehicles. no use storing them just to replace things later, and probably sell them anyway.

Re: What would you do?
Thanks for the input.
Since my Blazer was pretty much rebuilt in the 1 1/2 years, and just re-painted it'll sell for top dollar. I'll have access to high speed satalite internet, so it'll be better than my dial up. Truth is if I can work for them for 10 years I'll be able to retire, at age 46. That is saying that I invest properly. Here's their web site http://www.langara.com/ I had a really good 1 hour interview yesterday in person, and got along good with everyone there. Plus 2 phone interviews earlier. So that's why I thinkl that I have a good chance of getting the job. |

Re: What would you do?
Thanks Doug.
I never mentioned that they have 1 huge shop there with a paint boot. You can just bet that I'll be trying to get them to ship one of my oldies in for me to work on. Plus out when I'm done They do ship goods up in barges, so they might have the room once. |
