1995 4l60e transmission bolt problem

anybody know what to torque the drain pan on a 1995 4l60e transmission? it has the cork gasket. i was told to make it "snug" i would rather a number. also i have stripped out one of the bolt holes on the housing. it is a m8x1.25. i am thinking of making it a 3/8-16 and just use another bolt. anybody ever had to do that? will it work, or is the aluminum too thin? let me know.

18 ftlbs in a crisscross pattern is what my Chilton's manual says. Don't have any firsthand knowledge of the bolt problems.

Re: 1995 4l60e transmission bolt problem

I would use a Heli-coil repair kit to fix the bolt. That way use won't have one bolt that is different from the rest.
