Lightning Bolt Warning?
My 2001 Jetta doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it mechanically, and I just got an oil change last week. Since the oil change, the warning light on the dash with a lightning bolt in it has been lit. The owner's manual says that a blinking lightning bolt means something about the catalytic converter, but nothing about a steady one. Any ideas?

Check your gas cap and make sure it is on tight. Lack of fuel system pressure will cause this to turn on sometimes. Also it could be a problem in your dash. In my jetta a couple of lights were on and the cause was simple a malfunction in the dash.
Good Luck!!!! |

Re: Lightning Bolt Warning?
That's the check engine light, have the trouble code read. Blinking only means that there could be damage occuring to the cat at that point in time.
