Unhappy I need help driving My SPec-V

To be quite honest I learned some stuff yesterday, after thinking I was the shit. I raced 2 different civics from a roll at 40mph, and we were hanging with each other completely until i botched 5th gear of corse.

I think it may have been stupid for me to do that in the first place. Just because at 40mph in his 2nd gear his VTEC is kicking in, and i'm halfway through my powerband. I may have gotten anxious and jumpy mostly cause i figured i would win, and the fact that it was really my first time trying to race in the car.

First off it was prolly stupid of me at that point to do that, because my torque will tear him off the line all together i'm assuming. I don't know what he had under his hood but he kept with me.

I need to figure out how to shift in this car. Escpecially 5th and 6th. BEcause I couldn't find them.

You might think i'm a tard, but i've had my car for a week now, and this is the first oppurtunity i've taken to actually try to race it. I feel dissappointed because i believe i should have takem him fairly easy. And maybe that is the reason why i lost.

I hang my head in shame.

Re: I need help driving My SPec-V

ahhh teh spec v doctor is here, never fear rowen. First off dont roll form 40, roll from 20 in first gear.....hehehe then 5th is all the way right and all the way up, over exaggerate these movements and you'll find 5th and 6th, in my opinion you should'nt even need 5th or 6th in a race unless youre willing to lose, you dont pull too hard in either of those gears, stick to 1-4 when racing and you shouldnt lose to much, if that civic was hanging with you he may have a h22 swap or a gsr swap in there which is respectable but you should still be winning

Re: I need help driving My SPec-V

yea i believe so... it said that u launch @ like 3k and shift at the rev limit on 1st, 2nd u shift @ 6k, then you hold out third till 6500 if u get there, and u dont shift out of 4th unless you have forced induction of course.

Re: I need help driving My SPec-V

Ok, if you're racing from a 40 roll, you want to drop it into 2nd gear. Simple as that. It's the best choice.

If you're racing from a stop, shift like this:
1st>2nd@redline
2nd>3rd@5800rpm
3rd>4th@5500rpm
4th>5th@5500rpm
5th>6th@5500rpm

Or I will kick you in teh NUTS

Teh steel toe that has been in teh snow
I will rip off yuor pants and kick yuo in teh nuts
My steel toe will stick to yuor nuts
And I will swing yuo around by yuor nuts as I do a Hurricane kick

Re: I need help driving My SPec-V

id advise a 20 roll, its an amazing feeling, try it if you havent already, roll at about 20 mph in like 4th gear or something, then drop it into 1st and punch the gas, WOOOOOO!
