Tail Gate Cable
Having a hard time replace the tail gate cable on a 01 Sonoma. Where it connects to the tailgate itself, it does't seem to come apart! any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It must come off.. so many have had to be replaced.

Tail Gage cable replacement
I am looking for the same information. The cable attaches to the latch bracket with a non removable pin. The replacement cables I bought say to remove old cable and install the new ones. How do they come off???

Re: Tail Gage cable replacement
To remove the old cables, I found out that you have to drill out the pins. Only do this if the replacement ones came with some sort of replacement pins. I also found out that it is recommanded by GM to replace that whole latch assembly which cost about $50.00 each from the dealer. I found some at a junk yard for $10.00.
