yes I'd buy it. I have a 1989 grand marquis station wagon with wood on the sides. I have had it for 4 years and it runs great. I have almost had no problems with it at all. the only thing i had to replace on it was a leakey power steering hose which cost me like 10 dollars and half an hour. That and an alternator. Which is so easy to install. I mean if you have to pick something to go wrong, i would pick that, it's real easy. I drove that car from miami to north florida several times, then from miami to northern kentucky (i moved) WITH everything I owed in it. Got in one small accident where the other lady was going at least 30 mph. messed up her car but i hardly had a scratch. Anyway. I bought my car from an old lady. If it looks like the car was well taken care of, buy it. If it lookes like it's been ragged out then don't. Not to be too judgemental, but look at how is selling the car and judge for yourself if you think they beat the sh*t out of the car. I think it's a good tank to drive, but no tank is good if it's WAY beat up.

I'd get it, and then I'd give it a lil' TLC with a nice tune-up, washing, and interior detailing!

Re: good deal????

Sounds like a great deal! That's exactly what I bought my '86 for a couple years ago, and it wasn't in great shape.
