how much?

just wondering how much i should ask for/expect to get. would like multiple prices... 1. sell to dealership. 2.trade value to dealership 3. sell to private buyer/newspaper somethng like someone off the street.

now heres a little bit bout her.

1999 plymouth neon expresso/highline 2.0 DOHC coupe(2 door)
odometer reads 104,000.. rounded up from 103,7 something
originally purchased in florida.. right outside gainsville.. car has been in norfolk virginia for 6 years now. i have been the only onwer/operator(well my grandmother had it for the 1st 6 months and about 3000 miles then it was given to me... but shes 60+ and drove it like a granny)

car has been wrecked a few times.. but evreything wa fixed by the dealership and has a lifetime waranty as long as i own the car.. none of it was mechanicle it was all just body work basically.

no power windows or locks or moon roof( no moon roof period)
but everything else had factory upgrade package... like factory option b rims.. which are technically the 2000 factory rims but were upgrade option for 99. upgraded interior.. basically just softer cushioned seats..
other than just a cd player everything on the interior is stock on inside. i am a non smoker but there are 2 small burn marks on passenger side.. 1 up buy window top were they went to ash cig and ddint hit window,, and one on arm rest. other than that interior is very good.

exterior... 25% mirror all the way round. xenon front wingswest side and rear. z3 fiberglass finders.. car is red... fenders are dark dark blue, and the side skirts and rear skirts are black.. but they are supposed to be that way. i got black graphics adn the black skirts go w/ my graphic scheme... but need to paint fenders red still.. lowered 1-3 inch adjustable coilovers. carbon fiber altezza 3 meatball talights. white/clear side bumper lenses not the origianl orange. there is light fender bender on the rear passenger quater pannel... just above the wheel. where guy side swiped me at about 10 mph.. wheel took all impack and it bent the strut... but that has been replaced already.. but ther is still a little eye sore in the body work right above the wheel.. not to bad.. maybe 400$ body work then whatever to spot paint it up... other than that appearance is good.

engine/performance..... 3-speed auto 2.0 dohc. red iceman intake. k&n air filter. high performance spark plugs.. dunno which ones just when the screamin deamon igniton coil was installed it needed better spark plugs. chrome front tower strut bar. pacestter headers.. was a pacesetter catback exhasut. i beleive 2.5 or 3 inches ... but the muffler rusted out so now its the cat back pipe still but a camaro duel exhaust was welded in. race cylinder head( paid 13 installed).. cylinder head is fully port and polished and has a 3 angle valve job. timing belt snapped about 4 months ago.. while that was getting replaced i got them to throw my cylinder head. not even 2 weeks later.. from dropping from 6000 rpm neutral into drive fried my transmission.. revers and neutral. about 4 weeks ago drive went out so i ahd to replace that also.. didnt ahve $ for new one so i got a used one..no power loss or anyhting.. only thing is that the front motor mount , basically just the insert(bout 30 bucks) needs to be replaced.. so when i take off slow its all good.. but when i gun it ..from the front motor mount allowing engine to move more than normal... 1st gear bogs down for like 1 second if that.. nothign anyone else can tell just the driver.. how u can feel the engine in ya pedal.. but front insert wil fix that. just replaced starter like 3 days ago.. yes a used one.. and the alternator right now is peak 9 amps.. which normal is 83 amps.. so that is being replaced w/n the week. valve cover gasket needs to be replaced so it leaks some oil.. its cheap but once again im lazy and havent done it. id rather just put a quart of oil in once a week rather than taking what 8 bolts out putting a new gasket in a replaceing the bolts i relly am lazy. lol .. car also has viper alarm system. she is very quick.. can hang w/ stock srt-4... but not a stage 2 srt-4... i know that from personal experience. she definatly has alot of power. have had her on interstate w/ speedometer rocking back and forth past the 120 mph mark. havent raced her at track so dont have any times.. im just a red light racer. havent dyno'd so dont know actuall hp. before the cylender head was installed she got about 40 mpg highway..(bout 500 miles a tank full) and after cylender head i get about 30 -35 mpg highway. i do have pics but they are kinda old.. before the car was lowered and before new graphics were put on and before my driver window got re-mirror tinted.. broke original one and replacement window had reg grey tint on it.

sorry so long.. just wanted to give everyone a clear picuture. hope yall get the gen idea of what im working w/.

I would ask around $2800... as far as performance, it may be quick and it's still a 3-spd. Mileage over 100k, no matter what the condition, has some "sticker shock" behind it. If anyone researches it, like on Carfax, they will see it has been repaired at the dealer because the dealer reports it. A lot of what you mentioned as far as appearance and performance would appeal to a young high-school kid who would probably hand over cash to you with no problem. But a lot of what you mentioned is also just a byproduct of mileage and use, like any vehicle...

I personally would not pay that much for a 99 w/104000 miles. Most I would pay is $2000 maybe, especially knowing it has been repaired. Keep in mind all the mods that you did to the car don't increase value, but decrease the value. I know people who return their car to stock, sell the upgrades seperately, and then sell the stock car and get more money out of it that way. The only way you will get $2800 for it is if you find someone who wants a neon that is already somewhat modded so it will save them the time and money.

KBB Trade-In Value is $1530
KBB Private Value is $2435

Those values are for a car with a clear title and that has never been wrecked or repaired. Hope this helps you!

yeah i totally understand what both of you are saying.. i was actually pondering the same thing about taking some of my parts off and putting original back on. i guess mainly jsut the body kit.. casue i dotn have the original intake or the original coil pack.. ty so much for ya replies... i had checked kelly blue book but wanted to know what actuall neon people that actually know something bout em say. ty again
