Shudder at high speeds

My cobalt is vibrating slightly at high speeds (120 klicks and up). I'm assuming its a tire balance. My question is will warranty cover it? It's only got 8500km's on it, so it shouldn't quite need a balance yet. Further, it wasn't shuddering before my car went into the body shop for the broken window. Could they have messed something up?

Fucking hell, I noticed yesterday the wheel is slightly misaligned as well.... ARGGGGGG!!!!

Back to the dealer we go. I think they're getting sick of me. Good thing I'm a young attractive female and the service folk are young males. Cept for the one, I'm sure he's gay. But then I just need to work harder to charm him

You should get your tires rotated/balanced every 3000-5000 miles. Not doing so can cause a slight vibration/pull on the highway.

I always thought it was more, I thought it was like 20000klicks or something. My old chrysler i didnt give a shit. this one is my baby, AND its a lease, so im on it

It's the small stuff that most people forget about that will bite them in the ass later

If something does come along that seems like a warrenty issue, make sure you do bring it in right away. Even if they can't figure out what it is or fix it on the spot, it will be documented for later. That way you can point fingers at the dealership for thier neglegance

I talked to the folks at the dealer yesterday when I got my oil changed and they said they recommend tires balanced and rotated every 15k (km's). I'm at under 10k still. They didn't have a chance to look into it yesterday, I'll have to take it back again for them to really take a good gander at it.

Further, I talked to him about my mileage. I'm getting about 10L/100kms, or about 25mpg. That's a combination of half city, half highway, and a dash of conservative driving (no crazy revving). I understand a break in period, but this is madness. I should be getting way better mileage. Any ideas?

That's actually not bad gas mileage at all. Mine is about the same when I drive half city, half highway and the SS/SC is awesome on fuel when not in the boost. I can get over 34 mpg at a steady 75 mph on the highway. You're likely to see the same, just not when you add stop and go driving in the mix. If you wanted something that gets 30+ mpg in the city then you shoulda got yourself an old Geo Metro. But then, you'd be driving a Metro...ewww.

You're mileage is fine, don't worry about it.

Are you calculating your gas mileage or using your info center? If you are using your info center make sure you reset it once and a while. Since it takes an overall average it will include anytime that you hammer it. I usually get around 32 MPG on my info center. When I hammer it I reset it afterward to ensure more acurate numbers.

if you wanna fix the high speed problem (if it still hasnt gone away) you need to have ur car alined for higher speeds...the offset is prob stock sumtin like 0 or .1 but and stock...its set for 0-60....if you set it for a higher speed it will feel like ur doin 50 when ur doin 90...lol

i saw recently that at speeds of 70-80 the cobalt is at a really high RPM like 2500+ (much like my cavalier and i hate it like that)
...something you did to change that? or at 2600 RPM do u get 34 MPG?
